Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 15, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how TikaCam collects, uses, and protects your data. We believe in privacy by design.

Who We Are

TikaCam — Contact: [email protected]

If you are in the EU/EEA/UK, use this address to exercise your data protection rights under GDPR.

Our Privacy Approach

TikaCam is a privacy-first video chat platform. All calls are peer-to-peer (P2P) via WebRTC and end-to-end encrypted (E2EE). We do not monitor, record, or store call content.

We do NOT collect: Call audio/video content, biometric data, precise geolocation, contact lists, or browsing history.

What We Collect (Minimal by Design)

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

Cookies and Tracking

TikaCam avoids cookies whenever possible. If cookies are used, they serve only essential functions (such as storing your 18+ age confirmation) and are never used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

For users in regions covered by GDPR, we process your data based on:

Data Retention

Security Measures

All calls use end-to-end encryption via WebRTC peer-to-peer connections where supported. If media must be relayed through TURN servers due to network restrictions, it remains encrypted in transit.

We employ rate limiting, abuse detection heuristics, and review of user-submitted reports (not call content) to enforce community guidelines and maintain platform safety.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

To exercise these rights, email [email protected]

Children's Privacy

TikaCam is strictly for adults 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from or allow access by anyone under 18. If we become aware of underage users, we will terminate their access immediately.

International Data Transfers

TikaCam may process data in countries outside your country of residence. Where data is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) when required by law.

Third-Party Service Providers

We may use third-party infrastructure providers (hosting, TURN servers) and privacy-friendly analytics services. These providers act on our instructions as data processors and do not receive access to call content. We select providers based on their privacy practices and security standards.

Law Enforcement Requests

Because we do not record calls, we cannot provide call content to law enforcement. If we receive a valid legal request, we can only provide the limited data we actually possess: connection timestamps, IP addresses at connection time, and user-submitted reports.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we'll provide a more prominent notice (such as an in-app notification). Your continued use of TikaCam after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
