Terms of Service

Effective date: January 15, 2025

By using TikaCam, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. General Use of the Service

Service Description. TikaCam is a free video chat platform that lets adults connect via private, peer-to-peer video and audio calls using WebRTC technology. All calls are end-to-end encrypted (E2EE). We do not monitor, record, or store call content.

Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old to use TikaCam. By accessing the service, you confirm you meet this age requirement.

No Registration Required. No account creation is required to use TikaCam. By using the service, you accept these Terms and are responsible for your conduct while using the platform.

2. Prohibited Activities

By using TikaCam, you agree you will not:

3. Content and Data Privacy

End-to-End Encryption. All calls use peer-to-peer connections with end-to-end encryption via WebRTC. If media is relayed through TURN servers, it remains encrypted in transit. TikaCam servers never have access to decrypt your call content.

No Access to Call Content. We do not monitor, access, record, or store the audio or video content of your calls. Your conversations are completely private.

Moderation & Reporting. You can report users who violate these Terms. We review report details and metadata (timestamps, user IDs), not call content itself. See our Privacy Policy for complete data practices.

4. Data Collection

Minimal Data Collection. We collect only the minimal data needed to operate and secure the Service, including signaling/connection data, device information, operational logs, and user-submitted reports. This data is retained only as long as necessary. See our Privacy Policy for detailed information on data collection, use, and retention.

5. Disclaimers & Limitations

As-Is Service. TikaCam is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

No Monitoring of Content. Because calls are end-to-end encrypted and peer-to-peer, we cannot view or record call content and are not responsible for what users share during calls.

Limitation of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TikaCam and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of data, profits, or revenue; or damages to devices or other property arising from your use of the Service.

Indemnification. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold TikaCam harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

Ownership. The TikaCam platform (including its design, software, features, logos, trademarks, and other content) is owned by TikaCam and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works without express permission.

Limited License. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use TikaCam for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

User-Submitted Content. If you submit text, images, or other content to TikaCam (e.g., through reports or optional profile features), you grant TikaCam a limited, revocable, worldwide license to use that content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service. This license does not apply to call audio or video, which we do not collect or store.

Copyright Complaints. To report alleged copyright infringement, email [email protected] with: (i) identification of the copyrighted work; (ii) identification of the allegedly infringing material; (iii) your contact information; and (iv) a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized and that you have authority to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

7. Enforcement

We reserve the right to issue warnings, limit features, or suspend or permanently ban access for violations of these Terms. For serious violations, credible threats to safety, or when legally required, we may cooperate with law enforcement authorities.

Enforcement decisions are made at our sole discretion. You may appeal moderation decisions by contacting us at the email address below.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. If changes are material, we'll provide a more prominent notice (such as an in-app notification or homepage banner). Your continued use of TikaCam after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
